In-Home Respite Care is the provision of appropriate, temporary, substitute care; or supervision of functionally impaired older people which enables the
primary caregiver to maintain his or her provision of assistance to the older person.
This service aims to strengthen and support the family. A volunteer or staff will provide companionship, supervision and/or assistance to the frail elderly to allow the primary caregiver time off (maximum of 3 hours)
to do short errands or have a break. Charges will be up to $30 according to distance (client’s residency) or ability to pay.
